Mission of the Valles Caldera Rim Trails Project

The Valles Caldera Rim Trails Project is a grass roots effort with a goal of creating a sequence of interconnecting trails around the rim of the Valles Caldera National Preserve. There are many obstacles to overcome if we are to achieve this goal, but we believe that with persistence, moving forward step by step, we can accomplish our objective.

A sequence of trails around the rim of the Valles Caldera has the potential to attract trail users from around the Country and the World in order to explore what has been termed the "Yellowstone of the West". With one of the most spectacular view sheds on the globe, these trails will prove to be a tremendous boast to the region's tourism and hospitality industries.

Citizens in our growing region are yearning for more outdoor recreational opportunities, opportunities that an interconnected set of trails around the rim of the spectacular Valles Caldera can provide.
